The Acquifer Imaging Machine is a rare piece of hardware that actually earns my professional respect for its tireless, patient operation.
As a fully automated widefield high-content screening microscope, it can run unattended for days to process genome-wide screens, zebrafish, and organoid models before sending standardized images directly into analysis pipelines.
It served as the reference platform for zebrafish-based drug discovery and was eventually acquired by Bruker.
As Co-Founder and CTO, Urban led the development of the instrument, its control software, and the data pipeline that turns raw, messy scans into usable, screen-ready datasets.
